You can learn their techniques and skills that make them a great public speaker. Knowing a little bit about their background can help as well to understanding how they became such a good speaker. The best things you can learn from a good public speaker is how they prepare themselves and the steps they take to calm themselves down for the big speech.
In my opinion, much can be learned from exemplary public speakers. i believe many presidents have shown that they are good public speakers, and I feel President Obama is a very talented public speaker. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a passionate and exemplary public speaker. From speakers such as these, you can try to emulate their stature, their facial expressions, their hand motions, and their volume - all things they use to help express the things they are saying and almost give life and meaning to their words.
You can learn a great deal from exemplary public speakers like President Obama, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and John F Kennedy. Obama today uses humor in some of his speeches to keep the attention of his audience. Some people want to do more than just listen; they want to have fun while they listen. You will learn from watching these men speak that all of them had a great deal of knowledge. Their beliefs were strong and the connection with their audience was present throughout their speeches. Martin Luther King shared his dream with his audience, a dream that was so real everyone believed in it as if it were their own. Each of these men displayed confidence in their speeches and were very passionate with the way they delivered their speeches. Humor, knowledge, belief, confidence, and passion are some of the things you can learn from exemplary public speakers.
It takes a lot of preparation to be able to speak in front of the public. Whether is a company meeting, seminars, weddings, or whatever it is when someone is speaking in front of audience, it takes a lot of courage to be able to do that. From all the presidents you can learn that it takes confidence to be able to deliver their speech. When it comes to delivering a speech one needs to prepare, become familiar with their speech and be confident about their speech and have faith in themselves.
Yes, I suppect it would take years of preparation in order to become a great public speaker. If one happens to be on orator - an eloquent public speaker like President Obama, Malcome X, Bishop TD Jakes or Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr; then I would say that one has completed half the task ahead of them. All of these people captivated their audience and by pulling the audience into their moments in time.
I believe that are Orator very gifted speakers. I slso believe that Malcome X was a gifte oralical
What fascinates me about good public speakers is the way they address their audience like they are talking to a good friend. For example, Steve Jobs (CEO of Apple) when Apple introduces a new product, Mr. Jobs holds a press conference to show the public how the new device works. Watching him makes me feel like he is talking directly to me and not a large audience. The preparation and confidence portrayed by each of his presentations motivates me to prepare myself for our final assignment.
In my opinion it takes a lot of practice to be able to talk in front of a large group of people. For people who have a fear of public speaking such as my self, I think it helps if you have a person you can look at that is good at public speaking that you can learn from. A great example of a public speaking figure that one could look to today would be President Obama. He truly is an amazing public speaker and is able to deliver he speeches with such emphasis.

The person I chose as an exemplary public speaker is a woman I work with. She is a professor at an Ultrasound Institution. I asked her a series of questions given by the Assigment and Discussions Questions. This is how she responded:
Do you ever get nervous when in front an audience? Absolutely! Before every class I have an anxiety, never changes. Why? It's intimidating meeting new people especially deaing with your peers. When? Usually the first week but then it gradually gets easier. You start to become comfortable in your surroundings.
How do you manage your communication apprehension? HUMOR.. when you make at least one person laugh it loosens you up.
What advice can you give me to become a confident public speaker? ALWAYS know your material! When you answer questions from the audience your confidence level will slowly start to increase.
I've recently took the Self Assessment Report on Public Speaking. It asked numerous questions of how you respond both physically and mentally on public speaking. I scored a 104. That score indicated that I have moderate anxiety in most public speaking situations. I believe it was pretty accurate. Hopefully by the end of this class I can take this test again and score much lower.
After watching Michelle Obama speak at Spelman College I was rather intrigued. I found out many things about her life and education. She definitely came across as a very empowering role model. Her delivery was captivating. I think she might have learned a few things from her husband. I really felt as though she connected with the audience. That college was very lucky to have such an inspiring person to give advice on life, education, and basically your future!
I enjoyed watching Michelle Obamas commencement speech at Spelman College also. Her words were very encouraging and uplifting. She was very connected with the audience, her thoughts were very organized, and she wrapped up her conclusion very nicely.

I guess this sums me up pretty good. I do have a little apprehension at times, but generally I am comfortable enough to express myself in small group discussions or informal meetings. Speaking up at a formal meeting though, or public speaking on the other hand is pretty terrifying! Rebecca (Cline)Hart
I have to agree with the author that visual aides are usually your best friend in my opinion when you are in front of an audience. For me it gives me some relief that people are not staring at me all the time but at times my handy visual aide. Drawing from past experiences also helps alleviate tension from my past experiences of having to speak publicly. Also try not to stare into the vast amount of faces in the audience pick a few in the audience that you like and it helps make the speech feel more like a conversation between a few people.
