  11. Chapter 15, while helpful in providing tips on speech delivery, also made me feel a bit more anxious. For example, I tend to gesture quite a bit in casual conversation and would need to tone that down. I would also need to be more mindful of my facial expressions because I laugh when I'm nervous. On the other hand, reading about these and the other suggestions is useful because now that I'm aware of them, it will hopefully help me to avoid these mistakes during my speech.

  13. Chapter 15 really has me nervous. Yes it does help in many ways but it also has me scared to death. The thing that probably will be most useful to me is REHEARSING your speech. I know the chapter said memorizing can become stiff, stiltled and over rehearsed but it kind of helps me. I guess I'll just have to see what actually works for me during my first speech. Good Luck Everyone!

  14. After reading chapter 4 about plagiarism I learned a few things. I always knew it was terrible and you can fail or get kicked out of school, but hearing about Vice President Joe Biden plagiarizing one of his speeches back in 1987 was so surprising!! I always thought someone wrote out their speeches for them. How could they possibly think no one would know! Anyway learning to avoid plagiarizing is knowing how to do your own work! Make sure to give the person credit on whos knowledge your using!
